Contact

Joins two face selections with bonded contact, so load passes between their domains through a spring of the contact stiffness. For a rigid joint use Tie. Only Bonded is solved; No Separation is refused.

Inputs

Faces A Face Set

Faces on the first (independent) side.

Takes: Faces in Solid
Faces B Face Set

Faces on the second (dependent) side, joined to faces A near them.

Takes: Faces in Solid
Max gap Number

Search distance in mm (default 1). Points of faces B farther than this from the driver faces stay unconnected.

Contact type Choice

Bonded: the faces stay together in every direction. No Separation (faces may slide but not open) is not solved yet and is refused.

Contact stiffness Number

Optional spring stiffness per unit area (N/mm³), a positive constant. Unset: derived from the two materials (mean of each elasticity matrix's diagonal, averaged over both sides).

Takes: any block that gives Number (102 blocks)
