Print Process
How the part is printed: connect it to the Print process input of a Reinforcement or of Solid to Mesh.
- In a Reinforcement, the added material is built to print without supports along the Build direction — no overhang flatter than 45° from the build plate, 55° along the optimizer's grid diagonals —, a result whose added material seals a pocket powder cannot get out of, in the part as it is printed alone (another body does not close a pocket: the powder comes out before assembly), is refused by name — one smaller than a cube of the Smallest feature is too small to make and is named, not refused —, and nothing the optimizer adds is thinner than the Smallest feature.
- In Solid to Mesh, the mesh is made at a third of the Smallest feature where that is finer than its Tolerance, so every member the printer makes holds.
The block has no geometry: its value is the setting.
Inputs
- Smallest feature Number
The smallest feature the printer makes, in mm: nothing the optimizer adds is thinner, and no added piece holds less material than a cube of it. Leave it empty to take the reinforced part's wall thickness; Solid to Mesh needs it set.
- Build direction Choice
The direction the part grows in, away from the build plate: the layers are laid along it. One of the six axis directions, +Z by default.
Output
Print Process
Used by: Solid to Mesh, ReinforcementProperties
Values the block gives besides its output. The editor lists them under Properties, and an input can read one by reference.
- BuildDirection Vector
The direction the layers go, away from the build plate: one of the six axis directions.
- SmallestFeature Number · mm
The smallest feature the printer makes. Empty when the block leaves it unset: then the reinforced part's wall thickness is the smallest feature.
